Schott Duran Bottles - Where to Buy?
« on: October 13, 2017, 12:55:41 AM »
I used to have a good collection of made in Germany Schott Duran bottles, which I would use to collect yeast if repitching within a couple of days. They are excellent quality with good seals and easy to clean. Unfortunately over the years I dropped all but one.

Any suggestions on suppliers? I'm looking for 500mml and 1000ml bottles. If not Schott Duran, and alternatives.

Thanks

I totally agree on the quality of these bottles, I have 10 of the 500mL and they're perfect :) Borosilicate glass, autoclavable/boilable (including lids) and really strong. IIRC mine aren't genuine Schott Duran, but they're at least as good. Never broken one in 5+ years.

Aim Scientific on Prospect Road might be worth a call: http://aimscientific.com.au/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=4_12

Gravey did a bulk order of glassware a number of years back (I got the bottles above in this order), he may be able to recall who it was from if you send him a PM - I'm not sure he reads the forum much these days.

I can get Simax 500ml and 1000ml bottles through Livingstone MAH.

Around $6.50 and $9.35 respectively plus delivery.

Cheers

Hi TDH

Thanks for mentioning Livingstone, it jogged my memory and I still have an account I set up with them many years ago. I think I'll start a bulk buy thread.

Cheers
